The Training Barn
|
There are 2½ acres for the dogs to run around in. Mostly rocky - but it's still a lot of space. There's ample room for camping / caravanning as long as you can negotiate the terrain, and it's not too wet. As visitors have noticed, the wind can be a bit fierce, or the sun can be glorious - but that's Anglesey weather. All that space means lots of opportunities for recall training. The barn was originally used for stabling 3 horses. The dividing blocks have all been removed and most of them now form a raised bed for the vegetable garden, so I have a space big enough to comfortably take my classes and train my own dogs. There is also ample parking. It's geared up for heelwork to music in that it has:
The agility area is in the small paddock area next to the house. Although it can be a bit windy there at times, it is relatively flat and convenient for access. The equipment is of KC standard and fenced off so it's ideal for dogs that have recall issues. If it's raining we can still do some limited agility training in the barn now I have the new floor. I also use this area for my puppy and pet classes in the summer when it's warm enough. |
